Man To Man by Manfred Karge
We're very pleased and excited to be presenting Man To Man. It's been a long-held ambition to stage this fantastic, one-woman piece. Taru Sinclair and Bob Lockwood have been using Kelman techniques to explore the text in relation to research, props used in the play, work on timbre of voice and to generally open up the play. We presented it in Portland during the Summer and the next performances are in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield. See here for full details>>
Video and animation
Our continuing collaboration with animator Rozi Fuller, has explored the interface between processes that seem to be naturally opposed - that of a company that can make content instantly and of an animator whose last full piece took 3 years to complete. We've presented a twenty minute performance work, Sideways, based on some of these explorations in Huddersfield and Portland and made a two minute short, The Wrong Room
In addition, we've produced a short video piece with Japanese composer, Makoto Nomura. Basing work in his 'shogi' composition method, we worked with Nomura and Sakuma, a dancer specialising in Javanese dance, we worked on a process that has led to a nine-minute short called Bed & Breakfast. We're going to be working with Nomura again in the autumn and are excited by the potential of this continuing relationship.
